- About Wabique
Wabique is an accessory brand developed by two sisters with the concept of "Bringing traditional Japanese beauty into everyday life, blending it into the modern world."
Based on the sensibility I have developed through my years of experience with kimonos,
Using kimono fabrics such as Nishijin-ori and Yuki Tsumugi, each piece is carefully crafted into accessories that fit into modern life.
The brand name "Wabique" comes from the combination of "Wabi" (sabi) and "Sabi-sabi" (traditional Japanese word for "wabi").
A coined word combining the French suffix "-ique," which expresses uniqueness and universal beauty.
Through the quiet beauty that gently accompanies your daily life,
We connect tradition to the present and future.

- About the operator
Wabique, an accessory brand that uses kimono fabric, is run by sisters who run a kimono dressing class.
I grew up in a kimono dressing class run by my grandmother, where I was exposed to Japanese tradition and beauty. There are many deep and wonderful fabrics for kimonos that are spread all over Japan. However, in modern life, opportunities to wear kimonos are decreasing, and their beauty and culture are being lost.
We want more people to know about these wonderful kimonos and feel closer to them. We also want to deliver them to everyone in a form that is easy to incorporate into daily life, so that the unique charm of kimonos will not disappear.
Our accessories are made by artisans who travel to all over Japan to find kimono fabrics, and then carefully craft each piece using scraps that would otherwise be thrown away. This makes each product unique and special.
Kimono fabrics are not just any cloth. Each one reflects the history and culture of the region, as well as the beauty of Japan's four seasons. We want to spread the goodness of kimonos, even if just a little, and have people feel close to them, just like we do.
It is our sincere hope that by picking up these accessories, the traditional beauty of Japan will come to life in your daily life and that kimonos will become more familiar to more people.
